| Who is Faerie Folks Accessories and More? |
| Faerie Folks Accessories and More is a home based business out of Jacksonville, Arkansas. It began over 10 years ago as just a hobby where Margaret, the owner, created many interesting craft projects. She sold these projects at local craft shows and craft malls. Her business then was called Hodge Podge Krafts. Then one day, she went to a renaissance faire in Ohio. As a history buff, she had always been interested in European history. She fell in love with the whole renaissance faire experience as it gave her the outlet to indulge her love of history. So she began changing her focus from country crafts to renaissance and medieval products. Her goal was to one day be a vendor at a faire. She made her first renaissance dress for herself but soon moved on to making garb for her family. When others outside her family began asking her to make garb for them, she decided to sew garb to sell. Other products such as jewelry, head wear, pouches, and things of faerie were to follow. With the change in products she needed to change the name of the business. As a decedent of Irish immigrants, she wanted something that would reflect her heritage. She had always the story of the wee people of Ireland. So she decided they would be the focus of her business. After many hours of deliberation, Margaret settled on Faerie Folks Accessories and More. She has recruited her family to help with the business. Now the entire family goes to faires. Some even perform. Her husband can usually be seen walking around with his guitar and singing. Her son has been seen squiring for Noble Cause Productions (a jousting team out of Oklahoma). And her daughter, well she has been in the court, a faerie, and a games wench. Her daughter has even discovered a crafting gene and has now started making things of fae to sell. You can visit with Margaret and her family at several faires in Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, and Arkansas. Check out our events page to see where we will be next. |
